Boian Videnoff is the Artistic Director and founder of the Mannheimer Philharmoniker whose profile he has been continuously forming since 2010. He regularly collaborates with renown artists such as Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Sonya Yoncheva, Daniil Trifonov, Kristine Opolais, Freddie De Tommaso, Pinchas Zukerman, Maria João Pires, Sergei Babayan, Gautier Capuçon, Igor Levit and appears in important concert venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Philharmonie im Gasteig Munich, the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Antwerp, the Auditorium „la Verdi“ in Milan, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Stadt Casino Basel, the Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg and the Liederhalle Stuttgart.
As a guest conductor he has worked with orchestras such as the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, the Kremerata Baltica, the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra, the Nürnberger Symphoniker, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg, the Basel Sinfonietta, the Biel-Solothurn Symphony Orchestra, the „George Enescu“ Philharmonic Bucharest and others.
After his successful debut with La Traviata at the Sofia National Opera & Ballet in 2023 he was re-invited to conduct revivals of La Boheme, Rigoletto, Tosca and Madama Butterfly in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, in productions starring artists like Sonya Yoncheva, Kristine Opolais, Liparit Avetisyan and Davide Giusti. In 2024 he was also responsible for preparing the revival of Turandot at the Opéra de Dijon.
Boian Videnoff is very passionate about making classical music more accessible for broad audiences. Together with the Mannheimer Philharmoniker he has established a series of free educational concerts and open rehearsals for schools, children and families. He is also responsible for the orchestra’s online video platform HomeSymphony® and its multimedia in-hall concert experience. Furthermore Boian Videnoff is also the co-founder and co-CEO of Enote, a Berlin based music-tech startup, that has developed an innovative AI-powered digital sheet music app, described by The Guardian as “a gamechanger for musicians”.
Boian Videnoff was born in 1987 into a musical family in Bulgaria. He grew up as a European citizen with 3 nationalities between Italy and Germany, where he received his musical education on the violin, piano, oboe and singing, before studying conducting with Jorma Panula and Gianluigi Gelmetti.

Founded in 2009 by Boian Videnoff, the orchestra aims to provide a career springboard for outstanding young professional musicians to start their careers. Over the past years, the young ensemble has been able to form its unique profile as an international talent factory for musicians and as one of the youngest and most exciting emerging professional orchestras in Europe.
Boian Videnoff is the co-founder and co-CEO of Enote, a music technology startup in Berlin. The company has developed a world-leading AI-technology capable of digitizing printed sheet music into fully digital interactive musical scores. Its groundbreaking app, a “game-changer for musicians” (The Guardian) makes sheet music more accessible, affordable, convenient and interactive than ever.
